Learning To Live is Learning To Let Go:-

Posted on Dec 7th, 2008 by warrior of nonaggression : Mr..Brightside warrior of nonaggression
Above sentence is said by Sogyal Rinpoche,(The Tibetan Book on living and Dying) I found this word very enlightening and very much applicable to life. I used to think that I lost many things in my life. I am using the word lost because I fought to win those things. But my fight to win the material thing didn’t bring any victory but only brought the sense of loss.  In reality I fought not to win but to loose. The only thing remaining from that struggle was pain, agony and suffering.  When I realized the true nature of the thing i.e. impermanent, things became easy. Accepting the impermanent nature of the material things helped me a lot to remain happy and to be self- satisfied and than instead of fighting to win I learn to let go the thing. Letting go the things helped me to understand and to accept the reality of life.
When we seat quietly and think that every one who we knew will leave us some or the other day, all those blood ties, all those friends, all those love ones will leave sooner or later and even our own body will not be forever than we realize that there is very few thing that we really need to be happy.
My personal experience is that, realizing the truth is more important than just knowing the truth. Realizing and knowing are two different aspects. To let go the thing is not easy task, it is a process and we develop this process through out our life.

I agree in that letting go can be a process of understanding. And there is a reason for it. We are moving toward our basic nature or away from it. This means toward love and understanding, which is our basic nature, or away from it.

The wild thing is there is no saying by anyone other than you what will lead to what path. And no one can tell you what path to take or what is right for you. You can only be presented with options and decide for yourself what to do. If there is any importance to life it is that each person operates as he or she sees fit.

This is really the conundrum of life. To understand life better means first seeing what one does not understand, then letting it go. To see what one does not understand means to live by looking at the process of your own life, with understanding, do what you wish to do, and be willing to let go of what you see is not true. Helpful in this is other perspectives but one must always be willing to reject other perspectives as well. This is one reason books can help. One can digest material in a book in relative peace compared to the influence of others, who however well meaning, do not know your path and can really only give information about life, not advice as to how to live. Except rather obtusely, live as you wish, but look at life.

I totally agree with you .
Path might be different  but still the objective is same,
word might be different but still meaning the same
your and my view might be different but still the object is same
truth will always be the truth, it will never be different.
What I am  really trying to say is  we  all humans are different but we all want to find and know the truth, and I just gave my way of finding the truth. Obiviously your way of finding the truth will be different and I will appreciate your way. I am not trying to say that follow my way, just want to say walk in the correct way.

Okay, I think we did not understand each other completely. I did not mean to disagree with your post, but expand upon it. I am trying to appeal to the Western viewpoint-the engineering side of life. That is likely because it is my own. I completely agree that there is a greater understanding.

I don’t know if we need concern ourselves about getting to complete truth, as an individual understanding oneself in full. I question whether that is even possible in this place. But I could be wrong. Each to his own.

Hi !
Okay, I think now I understood you.I will try expand the horizon of my thoughts as far as possible. When you said  “complete truth” , I want to ask you one question, can truth be partial ?? Can it be incomplete ??
Thank you for your thoughtful comment on my blog, it is very rare to get  thoughtful comments on my blog.

Thank you, Biranjan, for your words of wisdom!

Each one of us deal with truth in our personal way and your question “can truth be partial, incomplete?” can be answered by yourself as well! Blessings!
